If you're seeing duplicate transactions in the Piere app, there are a couple of scenarios that can cause this.
The scenario plays out like this: you connect your accounts to Piere, and we import transactions from each account you have in that financial institution. In a similar fashion, you may also have accounts connected to the external financial institution, as well. If this is your case, Piere isn't just importing the main external account's transactions, it's also importing the transactions of any other accounts you've connected to that external institution. Fortunately, we've got a solution for what we've described above.
Make sense? If not, take a look below:
The banks and institutions that most frequently cause duplicated transactions in Piere
Fidelity Full View
- Fidelity Full View is Fidelity's financial management platform that allows users to connect various external bank accounts and see their balances and transactions, all in one place.
- When you connect an external account to Fidelity, you'll see Fidelity transactions and the connected bank's transactions all together within Fidelity.
- If this is your scenario, and you connect Fidelity to Piere, you will see every bank account in Piere that you've connected to Fidelity.
- In this case, let's say the account you've connected to Fidelity is Wells Fargo Savings. Once you connect Fidelity to Piere, you'll see the Fidelity account and the Wells Fargo Savings together in the app. If you then also directly connect your Wells Fargo account to Piere, you'll see the accounts and transactions from Wells Fargo duplicated in the app.
SoFi Relay
- Note: The situation with SoFi or SoFi Relay is identical to what happens with Fidelity. (If you've read that explanation, you can skip over what comes next.)
- When you connect an external account to SoFi, you'll see SoFi transactions and the connected bank's transactions all together within SoFi.
- If this is your scenario, and you connect SoFi to Piere, you will see every bank account in Piere that you've connected to SoFi.
- In this case, let's say the account you've connected to SoFi is Wells Fargo Savings. Once you connect SoFi to Piere, you'll see the SoFi account and the Wells Fargo Savings together in the app. If you then also directly connect your Wells Fargo account to Piere, you'll see the accounts and transactions from Wells Fargo duplicated in the app.
Fixing the duplicated account issue
Hide the duplicated account
- You can hide any of the duplicated accounts within Piere from the "Accounts" page in the app. Once you have the Accounts page open, tap on the account you'd like to hide. Next, tap the "Hide from Budget & Trends" button.
- Once the account is hidden, not only will you no longer see the account listed in your budget, net worth, or insights, but any transactions associated with the account will also no longer appear.
